Prestige is serving as the Construction Manager-at-Risk for this new 15,000 sf addition to the James W. Black Music Center on the Monroe Campus of VCU for a cost of $4,500,000. The project involves constructing a replacement wing on an existing building – a former church – that serves as the principal practice and rehearsal facility for the renowned VCU Department of Music. In addition to directing the complete construction of this facility, which sits on a very small and congested site in the heart of Richmond’s Fan District, the challenge is to insure that all systems provide seamless service while not detracting from its use as a state of the art music rehearsal facility. This project is underway will be completed prior to the 2008-2009 school year.
